Greater Than: A Study in Hebrews
In this passage, we see the declaration of Jesus coming into the world, emphasizing that God desired something different than the repetitive sacrifices of the Old Testament. Jesus' willingness to come and fulfill God's will marks a pivotal point in God's redemptive plan. His body became the offering that finally satisfied the requirements of a holy God, cancelling the debt of humanity and establishing a new covenant.
This inspires us to think about our own response to Christ’s sacrifice. It’s not just a matter of acknowledging what He has done, but also aligning our lives to fulfill God’s purposes. Our actions should reflect our gratitude for this grace. How are we living in light of what Jesus accomplished for us? We are called to actively participate in the new covenant, living out our faith through good works that reflect His love.
