Becky Pasholk, Super Sunday School Coordinator

Pastor Augie
grew up in Niagara Falls, New York and
graduated from Niagara Wheatfield High
School where he met his wife Rachelle. He
received a Bachelor of Science degree in
physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute in Troy, New York.
Pastor Augie and Rachelle were married in
November, 1989. God has since blessed them
with four children, Alex (1993), Liam
(1995), Deianara (1997) and Tessia (1999).
Augie and Rachelle's careers and schooling
have led their family to a variety of
places. Augie worked for the Navy in
Washington, DC for the gamma-ray astronomy
department and he received a Master of
Science degree in biophysics from University
of Rochester (1992) in Rochester, New York.
He then worked for a start-up software
company writing physician practice profiling
software in Fairport, NY.
In 1994 God led Augie to the Phoenix area to
work for Motorola as a software engineer. At
that time Augie and Rachelle became members
at Christ's Greenfield Lutheran Church in
Gilbert, AZ. In August, 1997 God further led
Augie to Concordia Seminary in Saint Louis,
Missouri. Augie served his vicarage
(internship) at Christ the King Lutheran
Church in Kingwood, TX and he graduated from
Concordia Seminary with a Master of Divinity
degree on May 18, 2001.
Pastor Augie was called to be a mission
developer for the Lutheran Church - Missouri
Synod in Queen Creek, Arizona. He was
ordained and commissioned at Christ's
Greenfield to pastor our congregation on
July 8, 2001. He was officially installed as
pastor of Saving Grace Lutheran Church
during the Charter Sunday celebration on
March 16, 2003. Pastor Augie and Rachelle
were accepted into the Pastoral Leadership
Institute in 2005. This four year program of
study will allow them to grow in their
ability to serve God’s people and His
Church.
Pastor Augie has a love for people, young
and old. He is passionate about growing
Saving Grace through prayer and
relationships, and is driven by the desire
to equip the saints at Saving Grace for
ministry (Hebrews 13:21) so that we can
build God's Kingdom together by BRINGING
CHRIST TO OUR NEIGHBORS!

Many of you have heard
Rachelle’s happy voice answering the church
telephone. Since
Easter 2004,
Rachelle has
of been answering the church phone as
the church’s office assistant.
As Office Assistant, Rachelle
does much more than just
answer the phones. She is
responsible for the production of the church
worship folders and PowerPoint, official
church correspondence, maintaining
the church database,
financial records, other records and
much more.
You know and love Rachelle as the behind the
scenes and supportive wife of Pastor Augie
and the mother of their four children, ages
13-6.
In addition to all of Rachelle’s family
experience, however, she brings to the job
quite a lot of technical and administrative
skills. Before the Iadicicco’s moved to the
seminary in 1997, Rachelle ran a travel
agency out of their home. Rachelle is good
with computers and current software, and she
also has a B.S. in natural science and an
MBA in public accounting.
Rachelle says that what she enjoys
the most about being the Office
Assistant is being able to join her husband
in the day to day operations of the
wonderful ministry of Saving Grace. So if
you need ministry information or even
if you just want to say “hi,” call 988-5379
and talk to
Rachelle. May God continue
to bless her in this very important
function of our ministry.
Brent
is the 3rd and youngest son of Leo and
Marilyn Schian who owned a family farm in Brown City
Michigan. Upon Completion of High school he decided
to try airplanes rather than cows or crops so he
joined the Air Force where he served 4 years
stationed at Wurtsmith AFB in MI, Comiso Sicily, and
Holloman AFB New Mexico.
Brent decided to go
to college upon being discharged from the AF.
However bartending was a lot more fun and paid
better than school,l so college barely lasted 2
years.
Brent bartended at
Fairlanes Papago in Scottsdale, and Papillion’s Too
in Mesa, when he decided to start a business
recovering pool tables, with his dad, called
Buckhorn Billiards in 1989. About the same time he
met his wife Darcey and they were married in 1994. (Darcey
has a passion for all animals (except snakes) and
works at Gilbert Vet hospital.)
Buckhorn has been blessed by God and grown to 4
retail locations in the Phoenix Metro area, a
service department that operates out of a warehouse
in Chandler and a factory in Casa Grande called
Buckhorn Manufacturing. Brent’s favorite off time
activities are hunting, sports of all kinds, and
messing around with horses.
Brent and Darcey
are one of the initial families of Saving Grace.
Brent started in the Lay Leadership Program in 2001
upon advice of his Pastor, Augie, and can’t find
enough accolades for the program that has led to his
becoming a deacon in the Lutheran Church.
His heart and focus will be on outreach to the
unchurched of the East Valley at Saving Grace. He
believes very strongly that the congregation is not
the mission; it is established by God to accomplish
the mission, which is the Great Commission.
Becky
was raised in West Jefferson, Ohio. She
graduated From West Jefferson High School in
1992. In June 1995 she married Paul. In
November 1996 they moved to Arizona for
Paul’s job.
Becky and Paul have 4 girls Rachel (1998),
Victoria (2000), and Twins Teresa and Julia
(2004). They started attending Saving Grace
Church in August 2007.
Her hobbies are spending time with her
family, crocheting, and doing counted and
stamped cross-stitch. When she can she likes
to read James Patterson and also likes to
read John Grisham.
Becky says, “I am happy to be part of the
Saving Grace Children’s Ministry. I’m happy
to help teach the children about the life of
Jesus and all the other bible stories that I
was taught as a child in Sunday School.”
We are blessed to have Becky as part of our
ministry team at Saving Grace!
as an orientation to our
congregation’s mission, vision and values as well as
a brief overview of our fundamental teachings in
three separate classes each a month apart. For those
seeking membership who require a more in-depth study
